"BREAKING"

Sci-Fi Thriller

Breaking film project

Logline: In 2115, hacker John Deft must infiltrate the criminal underworld to save his family while a biotech algorithm can rewrite humanity.

Synopsis: Synopsis: Briff synopsis (season 1): “Breaking” is a futuristic thriller set in 2115, when humanity has survived pandemics and resource wars that wiped out half the population. From the ashes, a new order arose: a universal vaccine made people immune, while a centralized blockchain system and AI took over the world’s economy and politics. Paper money vanished. So did freedom. But not everyone is willing to live in this digital prison. The resistance, known as the Free Society, led by Max Gray and his brilliant ally, hacker John Deft, seeks to shatter the blockchain system they see as humanity’s new chains. Their impossible mission: seize control of every node and computer on Earth. Amid the struggle, John discovers an unseen hand guiding their raids. The trail leads to Tony Morris, a scientist who vanished in 2020 during the secret "Nano-AI" Project, a fusion of biology and technology. Hidden across blockchain and AI networks, "Nano-AI" holds the power to rewrite humanity itself. The criminal underworld, long unified under the iron rule of the ruthless Asian woman Mafia boss Cruel Kim, also hunts "Nano-AI". To break John, Cruel Kim takes his wife and son hostage, forcing him to play a double game: find the project’s creator—or watch his family die. John turns to Philip, a former cop scarred by the mafia’s violence, now running an orphanage. His contacts and grief make him a dangerous ally. The hunt for "Nano-AI" spirals into a deadly triangle: the Free Society, the Mafia, and the Secret Intelligence Service, each willing to use blackmail, betrayal, and murder to win. All paths lead to Philip's orphanage, where the truth is revealed: the key to "Nano-AI" may demand the annihilation of all humanity, and Ariel, the daughter of missing scientist Tony Morris, who lives in Philip's orphanage, can prevent this. In this world, there is no right choice—only the cost one is willing to pay.

Cast & Characters

John Deft

John Deft

(The Hero Protagonist / Hacker). John is the story's emotional and technical engine, forced to play a lethal double game between his revolutionary ideals and the lives of his family. As the only person capable of navigating the blockchain "chains," he serves as the bridge between the digital underworld and the physical survival of humanity.

Max Gray

Max Gray

(The Visionary Leader). Max is the ideological catalyst of the series, representing the uncompromising pursuit of freedom at any cost. He functions as the mentor figure to John, though his singular obsession with dismantling the global system often puts him at odds with John's personal desperate stakes.

Cruel Kim

Cruel Kim

(The Primary Antagonist / Mafia Boss). Kim represents the predatory nature of the new world order, exploiting the system's cracks to consolidate absolute power. She is the "Pressure Point" of the narrative, using psychological and physical leverage over John to turn a hero into her most effective weapon.

Philip

Philip

(The Guardian / Redeemer). A weary, former lawman seeking penance, Philip provides the moral and physical backbone for John's mission. His role is that of the "Protector," guarding the orphanage that holds the world's most dangerous secret while serving as a gritty foil to the high-tech warfare surrounding them.

Ariel

Ariel

(The Living Key). Ariel is the emotional heart and the ultimate "MacGuffin" of the story, unknowingly carrying the genetic or data-driven trigger for the Nano-AI. She represents the innocent future of humanity, and her survival—or sacrifice—becomes the final moral crossroads for John Deft.

Steven Norman

Steven Norman

(The Enforcer / SIS Assistant). Steven is the tactical extension of Zoe's will, providing the immediate physical danger and surveillance that keeps the protagonists in a state of constant paranoia. He represents the "Eye of the State," a lethal operative who executes the Service's dark directives without hesitation.

Zoe Campbell

Zoe Campbell

(The Shadow Antagonist / SIS Head). Zoe is the personification of the cold, calculated "Status Quo" who views the Nano-AI as a tool for ultimate governance rather than liberation. She serves as the overarching threat, orchestrating high-level betrayals to ensure the Secret Intelligence Service maintains its grip on the global population.

Tony Morris

Tony Morris

(The Catalyst/Ghost). Though he vanished decades ago, Tony is the "Architect" whose past genius dictates the future's fate. His role is the mystery at the center of the maze, a figure whose legacy forces the other characters to confront the terrifying fusion of biology and technology.

Elena

Elena

John Deft's Wife. She serves as the physical embodiment of what John stands to lose, her captivity providing the ticking clock that drives his every desperate action. Her role is to ground the high-concept sci-fi stakes in a deeply personal, human tragedy.
